How much clothing do I need for a memory bear?
A traditional bear usually needs around 1-3 adult clothing items depending on size and fabric. Patchwork designs may need more pieces if you want lots of fabrics shown.
Can you make a memory bear from baby clothes?
Yes. Baby clothing works beautifully, but smaller items mean more pieces are usually needed. Around 8-12 baby items is normally safer.
Can you make a bear from school uniform?
Yes. School jumpers, cardigans, shirts, ties and gingham dresses can often be used. Logos can be included where the fabric allows.
Can you make a memory bear from a wedding dress?
Often, yes. Wedding dress fabric, lace and delicate materials may need checking first, so please message Laura before ordering.
Can you use clothing from someone who has passed away?
Yes. Clothing from a loved one is handled carefully and respectfully. You can message Laura first if choosing what to send feels difficult.
How long does a memory bear take?
The current guide is usually around 6-10 weeks from receiving your clothing. Handmade work takes time and monthly spaces are limited.
Can I message before ordering?
Yes. Most customers message us first, especially when the clothing is sentimental or they are unsure what to send. You can message Laura before placing an order and we will help you choose the right keepsake.
Are memory bears suitable as toys?
No. Memory bears and keepsake animals are keepsake items and are not intended as toys.
Do you offer UK delivery?
Yes. Free UK tracked delivery is included for finished keepsakes.
Can I order more than one bear?
Yes. You can order more than one keepsake and give each one its own clothing notes and optional extras.
Can you add names, dates, waistcoats, ties or vinyl?
Optional extras such as names, dates, waistcoats, resized ties and vinyl writing may be available through the order form.
What happens if I send too little clothing?
Laura will contact you if there is not enough usable fabric. Sending a little extra is usually safer.
Do I need to wash the clothing first?
Yes, please send clean clothing in reasonable condition unless Laura has advised otherwise.
Can you use pet blankets or pet clothing?
Often, yes. Pet blankets and pet clothing can work for keepsake animals, depending on the fabric and condition.
